2Cozo (pronounced ‘nikozo) is a small craft shop selling handmade wooden crafts from reclaimed Yakusugi found floating down the river. Items such as keyholders begin from 1000 yen, accessories from 2800 yen and original postcards from 150 yen. Look for the small sign saying ‘zakka’

Gakunan produce high-end Yakusugi work. The upstairs gallery holds an extensive and impressive exhibition of work from small trinkets to large tables and wardrobes. Woodshop Kikori
Woodshop Kikori is a few minutes drive south of Anbo on the main road towards Onoaida. The owner is an ex Yakushima forester who designs and makes a wide range of quality woodcraft products that make excellent souvenirs. Many of their products are specifically made for the tourist market as they are
