YES Yakushima provided 2 incredible days on the island! Steve's forest tour was adventurous and informative. His knowledge of the land, history, and culture are incredible. Yukari's island tour  was fun and so personable. She took us in as friends and showed us local spots like the wood craft shop, matcha ice cream stand and community rice fields, in addition to the beautiful beaches, waterfalls, and national park. Steve was so accommodating in sitting us up with ferry, lodging, and equipment needs. Absolutely the highlight of our trip to Japan!

The day tour we took with Steve from Yes Yakushima was by far the best experience we had during our 3 week trip to Japan!!!! Everything about our trip was great, but the day with Steve was just special! Not only did he show us Yakushima from different angles and take us to beautiful and hidden places, but we also learned so much about Japanese culture, history and economy - that was incredibly interesting and Steve never tired of answering our many questions. Whatever you need for your trip on Yakushima, you can ask YES and you will get the best services. Steve booked for our family a car, organised a kayak activity on Anbo river, snorkelling at Isso beach with Kei which was great. And we did Shiratani Unsuikyo Tour with Steve. The tour was so beautiful, and Steve gave us so many interesting explanations on Yakushima forrest, moss, trees, Japan history and culture. Thanks a lot Steve ! Take care !

I couldn’t recommend enough YES Yakushima, they have been by far the best travel service I ever reached out to. Mr. Steve has been a huge help in planning the trip with speedy, clear and detailed instructions about accommodation, tours, food allergies, other services and literally everything else. We also went on 2 of their tours and definitely happy about that, both guides (one was Steve himself) could perfectly accommodate our schedule and make tailor made changes to the plans to maximize the time we had on the island. Went on island tour with Hiroko and JJ and they were fantastic!
Hiroko was trying to make the best out of the time during the tour as well as balance the depth of info given. JJ was a great partner for Hiroko and made my day with the tour.

Can't thank Steve and YES team enough for all their help in visiting Yakushima! They respond so quickly and really helped to navigate what'd be needed during our stay. We had a beautiful time and their help in booking the ferry, car rental (a must), and accommodation were invaluable. They helped so much with our questions, and I wouldn't hesitate to book with them again, nor to visit Yakushima again!

If you decide to visit Yakushima, I highly recommend using Yes Tours. You will most likely speak with Steve, who provides amazing recommendations if you send Yes Tours an email. Not only did Steve give us fantastic tours, but he also went above and beyond by booking our ferries, renting hiking gear, and cars for us. He even stayed with us during the rental process to translate. We provided him with our arrival and departure dates, and he organized activities for us, even on days we planned to explore on our own. Gave very detailed descriptions of a vast array of different features of the island, both the nature and the culture. Steve was more than happy to answer any and all side questions we had while progressing through the tour, and was willing to work with all of our scheduling issues and dietary constraints. We did a tour with Steve. Wonderful guy that taught us a bunch about the fauna and flora of the island. Took us on a hike and really helped us out to meet our tight schedule.
