Guesthouse Yakushima opened in January 2014. It offers a brand new, purpose built hostel-type accommodation. The Guesthouse Yakushima aim is to create a reasonably priced high quality guesthouse. The friendly English-speaking owner is very happy to welcome international visitors. They have custom-made bunk beds that are extra long and high – so no bumping heads or feet. The hostel also has helpful English signs and a selection of English information available.
Guesthouse Yakushima is located in the Mugio village in the south east of Yakushima and is close to the Botanical Park. The southern climate means that it is relatively cool in the summer and very mild in the winter. It is situated close to the beautiful Taino River and has stunning views of Mount Mocchumu. The guesthouse has spacious parking and is only a 4 minute walk from the Tainokawa bus stop.
