On Yakushima there is a great selection of places to stay.  Choose from exclusive hotels to shared budget accommodation.  Whatever your choice of Yakushima accommodation contact YES and we’ll book your hotel without taking a booking fee.  Many of the Yakushima accommodation listed on our website are available to book on larger booking websites.  However, when you book through YES you receive the same hotel rate and a much more personal service as we liaise directly with the accommodation owners and we can answer any of your queries to ensure that your visit to Yakushima goes as smoothly as possible. 

If you have already booked a Yakushima hotel via an international booking agent and the hotel you have booked is listed on the YES website, then we can ask the hotel to transfer your booking to YES. As the international booking websites take a large commission from the local hotels then when you book the Yakushima accommodation with YES you shall be fully supporting our island economy.

Book your Yakushima hotel with YES.

Support our island economy and not the internet giants!

The hotels listed on the YES! Yakushima website are all locally owned.  YES do not operate with nationally-owned hotels.  

If you choose to book your Yakushima hotel via an international booking agent then a significant commission is paid to these booking agents from the hotel booking fee and this means less revenue for our island economy.  To give a rudimentary understanding of how much revenue our island loses when visitors book with the large international booking agencies then take a look at the figures.

The average yearly total number of visitors to Yakushima is 250,000 people and they stay for an average of 3 nights.  The average accommodation fee is approximately $100 per night from which the international booking agent takes about 20% commission.

250,000 visitors x 3 nights x $100 x 20% = $15,000,000.

This is $15 million that could otherwise be used to employ more local people and be re-invested in our local island economy.  If you wish to make a difference to the places you visit then if there is an alternative to the large international booking agencies then please consider opting to book with the alternative and support a more sustainable economic future for our local community.

The YES English support service where we can convey messages etc to your Yakushima service provider.  Ferry & flight cancellations are frequent so this service becomes a blessing especially during the typhoon season.

To prevent double bookings we would ask you NOT to make the same hotel booking request with a different booking organization.  YES offer a quick response to enquiries so please consider contacting YES in the first instance.

Liability Notice

YES Yakushima will make a booking on your behalf, but all financial dealings will be dealt with directly between the service provider and customer upon arrival / check-in etc.

Cancellations made at late notice and without an adequate reason may be liable to a cancellation charge.  The decision to request a cancellation charge is taken by the service provider and cancellation policies are given when the booking is made with YES.   Cancellations caused by ferry/flight cancellation due to bad weather are, in most cases exempt from a cancellation charge.

YES Yakushima do not take any direct responsibility should the guest encounter dissatisfaction or problems with the requested service.  We will make all efforts possible to list services that are reputable and reliable.  However, should you meet with any dissatisfaction then please contact YES with details of your issue.

Toppy Jet Foil Ticket Reservation Service

Guests booking accommodation with YES  are entitled to our jet foil ferry reservation service.  Send YES the dates & times you’d like to sail to & from Yakushima.  Also include the number of people and your name.  Check the Toppy jet foil timetable.

Adult Return Toppy : 22,300 yen per adult

Adult Single Toppy : 12,200 yen per adult

Child (6 – 11) Return Toppy : 11,150 yen per child

Child (6 – 11) Single Toppy : 6,100 yen per child

Children between 0 – 5 travel free, but are not allocated a seat.

Toppy ferry ticket payment is with cash or credit card at the port on the day of your departure.
