Sen no Ie (仙の家) is ideally situated on the banks of the Miyanoura River.  The cottages are also near to Shiratani Unsuikyo.  The owner of Sen no Ie is a master craftsman working with the precious yakusugi wood.  There is an exhibition room of his work in the main building.

There are 2 cottages with fitted kitchens and cooking equipment.  The cottages of Sen no Ie can sleep between 2 – 4 people and so they are ideal for families.  The cottages are tatami style with futons.  Some of the cottages have the traditional charcoal fires.  There is also a traditional wood-fired iron bath to sit in and relax after a long day’s hike.  The deluxe cottage even has a massive sugi bath carved out of one large log!  The sound of the river is ever-present and the cottages are surrounded by sugi trees so you really do feel as though you are in the heart of nature.
